This blog post is part of a series dedicated to honoring godly men and women in our lives. For this post, I had the opportunity to speak with my pastor, Pastor Troy Sosa.

~
How long have you been pastoring at Clovis Tabernacle?
15 years.
What is one of the greatest miracles you have seen/experienced throughout the years pastoring? Or a miracle that has impacted you?
I witnessed a young mother healed of Aids, on her death bed.
What is your favorite scripture?
It is found in the book of Jonah 2:4, “Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.”
Do you have any book recommendations ?
Purpose in Prayer by E.M. Bounds
How do you balance your family life, ministry, and relationship with God?
Family Life- Taking time out of the week with no interruptions, usually a full day to make them feel special.
Ministry- It is a God called job to do your best, but you are not the Lord, nor can you ever be at all places at the same time, so God gave us helps, such as other ministers to help with the tasks at hand. I use the help God gave us to help keep up with the demand.
Relationship with God- Prayer & the Word. Keeping in touch with God and His direction needs to be constant. I take every moment out of the day when I can to pray and read the Word. As I get older, I’m spending more time in these areas, even at odd hours.
What is the best piece of advice/wisdom that you were given by an elder in your life?
Take time to be consistent in prayer and reading the Word. It’s that simple…He will never fail you.
What do you believe is the greatest need in the church today?
Prayer and experiencing what it produces, a true walk with God.
How did you find the will of God in your life? (For career, marriage, future, etc.) And how should we navigate through that?
Career- Answering the call of God; accepting the call through confirmation, it wasn’t a forced moment, but a true called moment and confirmed through the ministry.
Marriage- My wife and I both took time to pray and seek God, even in the strong feelings of love we felt we had for each other, we prayed that we would both give time to God to confirm His will in our hearts. When we felt it, it was a real experience of joy we both felt in the Holy Ghost; it was as if God was there at that very moment.
Future- is always in motion; what I know to do, is to have that consistent prayer life, where God is able to speak to you at any given time, and always possess a willing spirit before the Lord to not question His direction.
Any advice for the young people reading this blog?
Trust in the Lord, trust your Pastor, and learn the truth of a real prayer life. The Word of the Lord; learn it-live it-love it.
How did you know you were called to pastor/called to preach?
I had an experience with the Lord one night in prayer; knowing the word of the Lord and His anointing was upon me.
How can we as saints help you the most?
Be faithful, be forgiving, and be a true Christian. Live the life.
Lastly, could you share some words of wisdom/advice with us?
When you leave this world or life, leave a legacy behind you for others to walk on. It will not be easy at times, but give others a true example to follow. Remember you are a testimony, and at the end of your life, what is the testimony of faith you are leaving behind. Give your children and your children’s children your prayers to walk on and to remember. Pray today for your children’s tomorrow, your prayers will live beyond your life.

I want to say thank you again to Pastor Sosa for taking the time to do this post for the Pillar Series and for imparting some wisdom to us all. When I started this blog series, my pastor was the first one I had in mind that I wanted to interview. He recently passed 15 years of pastoring Revival Life Church (Clovis Tabernacle) and I thought it was a great time to interview him. Thank you for all that you do and I know this post will be a blessing to everyone who reads it.
Someone sent me this image a couple of years ago and I wanted to include it because I believe it is a great reminder to pray for the man of God in our lives.

I hope everyone had a wonderful week. I have another post coming soon about our Missions Conference. Thank you everyone for reading and God bless! 🙂
