Life Update/New Year

Praise the Lord! I apologize it has taken me so long to publish another post. It has been almost a whole month now since my last one. Someone joked to me the other day that there are now cobwebs on my blog haha. But I am back! I had a wonderful time with my family in Texas for Christmas ❤ I came back to California on December 31st, just in time for our church’s annual New Year’s Eve service. We had an amazing service full of testimonies, singing, and prayer. Unfortunately, after that weekend, many in the church got sick so we have been having church via Mixlr for the last couple of weeks. But thankfully, everyone is recovering quickly and Lord willing we will be returning to church this weekend 😀

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the new year. Happy 2022! New Years is a time of reflection, consecration, and thanksgiving. Usually at the beginning of each year I pray about a word, or theme for the year. I have even chosen multiple words before. This word is usually something I feel God is wanting me to do or be more of. Last year my words were ‘Deeper’ and “Whole-Hearted.’ But this year I felt very heavily the word ‘Servant.’ I want to be a servant to God first and foremost but also to those around me. Our society today is very self-centered and selfish. We can all be self-serving and focused on ourselves. But this year, I want to be intentional in serving God and serving others.

Jesus was the greatest example of a humble servant,

"But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you,
let him be your servant: even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

We see many examples of servanthood in the Bible. In fact, the word ‘servant’ is listed more than 400 times in the KJV Bible beginning in Genesis and used lastly in Revelation. However, it is important to note that not every instance of the word is used with the same meaning. We know that there are different types of servants described in the Bible. This word can really be a whole blog post in itself, but I just wanted to share my word for 2022. I am also reading a great book about servanthood called, May I Wash Your Feet? A Call to Servanthood by Joy Haney.

I am very excited to see what God has in store for 2022. I have a couple of interviews coming up within the next month or so for the Pillar Series. I am very excited to share those with everyone! And if anyone would like to share their word/theme for 2022 in the comments, I would love to hear them! God bless you 🙂

  1. In 2022 Yearning for a deeper “Yielding spirit” for God.

    Romans 6:13
    King James Version
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
