New Blog Series: The Pillars Series

One of the things I have been working on is a new blog series called the Pillar Series.

When talking with an elder about this series, he suggested the series mention the word “pillars.” I stated how I thought that would be a great name, but I was still deciding between a few others. Well the next day I was reading Exodus 13 and a couple of scriptures stuck out to me.

"And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people." -Exodus 13:21-22

I thought back to what the elder had told me, and I knew that this confirmed the name he mentioned. These verses highlight how crucial pillars are to the church. Verse 21 mentions the pillar of the cloud, to lead us in the way and the pillar of fire to give us light for the way we should go. And I believe our elders are these pillars, they lead us in the way we should go and they give us light for the way.

And for this blog series, I want to speak with men and women of God who are pillars in our lives, men and women who have stood for Truth and who have kept the faith despite adversities. I have a couple of interviews coming up shortly, and I will be writing about them once they are finished. I hope and pray that his new series blesses and encourages each one of us. We all have a testimony and I believe it would be great to honor those who have been Pillars in our lives.
