Hi everyone! It’s been so long! I hope you are all doing well 😊 This year is flying by! I know I am extremely late sharing my 2024 New Year theme! But since today is A Love For Truth’s 3 year blog anniversary I thought it would be a great time for me to finally post this. I’m so thankful for what God is doing here in Clovis. It’s been a busy year but a great one!
We started 2024 off with our church’s annual prayer/fasting and consecration week. New year is a time of reflection as we think back on the previous year and look forward to what is to come. Last year my 2023 yearly theme was, “Getting Out of My Comfort Zone.”
I wanted to challenge myself to grow and get out my comfort zone in every area of my life. My prayer was to grow spiritually as well as in other areas. I did not want to be stagnant in my relationship with the Lord and I wanted to grow as a person, in my job, in friendships, etc. And I’m so thankful for the many wonderful things I got to be involved in last year, and all of the new things I learned. From going deeper in prayer, to helping in additional areas at church, to making more friends, it was a year full off uncomfortable moments. But it was a good uncomfortable lol. In order to grow, we have to get out of our comfort zones.
This year during prayer and fasting week, I was praying for the Lord to put something on my heart, a theme for 2024. The theme I felt for this year is, “The Lord Keeps His Promises.” We all have prayers and promises from the Lord that we are holding onto. Maybe you’ve been praying for years for your lost loved ones to come home, or maybe you’ve been praying for a healing that seems impossible, or you’re waiting on a dream to come to pass. I want to encourage you today that God is faithful and He keeps His promises. Whatever it is, He may have given you a promise years ago, and you’re still waiting, but don’t give up hope. In January I was reminded of the verse Joshua 21:45,
Not one of the good promises which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel failed; all had come to pass.
It’s a beautiful reminder that God keeps EVERY promise. God’s ways and timing are not our own. You might’ve given up hope because your prayers have not been answered yet, but trust in the Lord. If He made you a promise, he is faithful to keep it.
We have so many examples in the Bible of those who were promised things from the Lord, and He fulfilled them. The Lord promised Abraham and Sarah a son. However, Isaac did not come right away, it took many years for that promise to come to pass. The Lord gave Joseph dreams that did not come to pass for many years. He endured years of hardship and waiting, but eventually his dreams came to pass. David was anointed to be King of Israel, but he did not see that promise come to pass for many years either. It may have taken more time than they all expected, it may not have come in the exact way they thought it would, but the Lord did not fail. Every promise He made to His people came to pass. And every promise He has made to you will come to pass.
You may have been let down by man’s promises and commitments, but the Lord always keeps His promises. This year my prayer is for me to continue trusting in the Lord as His promises come to pass. There will be times, it seems like God has forgotten. Like God does not remember but one of my favorite verses states, “Great is thy faithfulness.” The Lord is faithful and so good! Whatever you need, whatever you’re praying for this year, I pray you will stay encouraged that God’s promises all will come to pass. Don’t let the waiting seasons discourage you from your promise.
I love the way the AMP version words Hebrews 10:23,
Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word];
I know I have not been consistent by any means with this blog, especially within the last year. But I do sincerely want to keep blogging. The Lord gave me the desire to start A Love For Truth in 2020, and it’s crazy how fast three years have flown by. I have no intention to stop blogging, and I have many ideas for posts and Pillar Series interviews. I have even recently designed stickers that I would love to share very soon! Thank you to everyone who still reads and I am so excited to hear the testimonies of God’s faithfulness to His promises.
God bless you! 😁 What is your 2024 theme? I’d love to hear it!
