This blog post is part of a series dedicated to honoring godly men and women in our lives. For this post, I had the opportunity to speak with Bro. Gonzalez from Revival Life Church (Clovis Tabernacle).

~
How long have you attended Revival Life Church (Clovis Tabernacle)?
We have attended for about 16-17 years.
Can you share some of your testimony with the readers?
I was not born in church, but when I came I started attending Belmont Tabernacle (one of our branch works). My cousin invited me. I was a young man about 18 or 19 at that time. I was thinking in my mind that I don’t drink, I don’t smoke cigarettes, I don’t do anything like that. I was into sports, I played basketball I always liked basketball. In my mind I was saying that I did not need God in my life because I was thinking that I was already a good person. But everybody needs God. A few weeks after I was invited, I began going to church often. From there, God touched my life and my heart. From that day when I got the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus name, I have always said we’re not perfect, but we try to live for God and do our best for Him.
What is your favorite scripture/book of the Bible and why?
I have a lot but of course Acts 2:38 is one. But I always say Psalms 91 because it talks about how God covers us with His wings. When we go through things, Psalms 91 is one of those we read. Our protection comes from God, there is no one else. I like to say there is no better insurance than the insurance of God.
(Side note: Bro. Gonzalez does construction and builds houses for a living. In October of 2018 he fell from a two-story building. I remember him sharing this testimony with us when it first happened. Bro. Gonzalez left work that day with only a scratch on his nose. God truly had His hand of protection upon him. I was thankful that Bro. Gonzalez shared this story for everyone to read about. It is an amazing testimony).
Even when I fell, I felt the angels of God catch me. I fell from a two-story building, it was at least 24 feet high and I only left with a scratch.
What is the greatest lesson you have learned in life so far?
After I fell that day, I can say with all my heart, nobody can tell me or change my mind, that God can do miracles. Because I know. Even my boss who is a Jehovah’s witness told me that day there was no doubt that God is a miracle-working God. And they do not believe in miracles, but he said that after I fell. The next day, he was shocked that I walked out of the car on my own for my doctor appointment. He was waiting for me over there and he was not expecting me to walk out on my own. He told me he was expecting to see me in a wheelchair or dead.
What do you believe is the greatest need in the church body today? What do you believe we should focus our time and attention on during these last days?
Souls. And we need to pray for one another.
How did you find the will of God in your life? (For career, marriage, future, etc.) And how should we navigate through that?
I am still trying to find the will of God. But I would say to let God teach you. And always be obedient to the man of God that God has put in your life because God talks to him. And never think that something is the will of God if God has not talked to your pastor about it first. In the Bible, the Lord always talked to the man of God first to lead His people into what He had for them.
Any advice for the young people?
Be faithful, and try your best to live for God. Be obedient. You may fall seven times like the Bible says in Proverbs 24:16, but always get up. Nobody is perfect, when you fall get back up. Put your head up and keep walking, don’t stay on the ground and don’t let anybody keep you there.
Lastly, is there anything else you would like to share with the readers?
God chose you for this time. Do your best in serving God. Also, be a leader, and help your pastor to lead the people of God to victory.

I would like to say thank you again to Bro. Gonzalez for sharing what was on his heart and for sharing some of his testimony with us. For those of you know the Gonzalez’s you know that they are some of the most humble people. They are a blessing to our church and I appreciate them. I know this post will be a blessing to those who read it.
I would also like to say I realize it has been a couple of months since my last post, and I am sorry it has been so long! Time flies by. But I do have a couple of posts coming shortly, including a Heritage 2022 post within the next week. I am so excited to share that with everyone. Our church also just got back from our Annual Family Camp a few days ago and I am so thankful how God moved and spoke to us. We had a great time. I pray everyone has a blessed week! Thank you so much for reading and God bless you 🙂
